Built in 1887, Scarborough House is a fine example of a typical Victorian townhouse. It retains many original Arts & Crafts features as can be seen all around South Cliff in the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architecture.

Scarborough House is ideally located, just a minute’s walk from the celebrated promenade of the Esplanade, overlooking South Bay. The beautiful victorian South Cliff Gardens lead directly on to the secluded southern end of South Bay beach and the renowned Spa complex. This part of the beach is perfect for rockpool explorations, swimming and paddleboarding.

Just 15 minutes walk from the house, across Spa Bridge, you can find the town centre. As well as all the famous sea-side attractions, Scarborough also has a wonderful, recently renovated, historic indoor market, a splendid art deco theatre and cinema, a striking medieval castle and a bustling working harbour, to name just a few. A popular recently re-invigorated attraction in the town is the Scarborough Open Air Theatre, which in recent years has hosted fantastic concerts from a wide variety of world-class musicians.

Beyond the town of Scarborough, there are lots of other beautiful Yorkshire coast, forest and moorland destinations to explore within an hour’s drive.
